2004年9月30日から2005年9月29日までテレビ東京系で毎週木曜夕方6時30分から放映。全52話。テレビ東京で東映アニメーションの作品が放送されるのは『キン肉マン二世』以来であり、放送時間が異なるが、『エア・ギア』、『出ましたっ!パワパフガールズZ』等、東映アニメーションの作品が本作の放送が始まった2004年から2007年6月末まで続いた。それ以降は一時期途切れる事になるが、2008年4月放送開始の『うちの3姉妹』で再び東映アニメーションの作品がテレビ東京で放送されることになる。原作の黒の地平編終了（グリニデの死）までのエピソードをベースに、若干のアレンジやオリジナルエピソードを加えて構成されている。 テレビ東京開局40周年記念作品。 2005年10月6日から第2シリーズ『冒険王ビィト エクセリオン』に改名し、2006年3月30日まで全25話を...。In the latter half of the 19th century, gold is discovered in the Black Hills, an area which has already been allocated to the Dakota Indians as a winter reservation in a treaty.
